Artois, Charles-Philippe of France, Count of: Youngest grandson of Louis XV, the Count of Artois was the younger brother of Louis XVI and the Count of Provence (future Louis XVIII). He was one of the first of the nobility to emigrate in July 1789 in order to organize the Counter-Revolution army. After failing to land in the Vendée in 1795, he was exiled to Great Britain until 1814.
