Hamelin, Fortunée, otherwise known as Madame Hamelin: Fortunée Hamelin was one of the most influential women under the Directory (1785-1799). The salons that she organized in the Hôtel Bourienne (rue d’Hauteville, 10th arrondissement), were then esteemed by all of Parisian society life.
