Audu, Louise-Reine: Nicknamed the “Queen of Les Halles,” she managed the Dames de la Halle (market women) trade association when the Revolution broke out. After leading the Women’s March on October 5-6, 1789, she was imprisoned for one year and then subsequently forgotten.
