Corday d’Armans, Marie-Anne-Charlotte, otherwise known as Charlotte Corday: Born into a family of lower nobility in Normandy, Marie-Anne-Charlotte de Corday d’Armans was a supporter of the Girondins. Shocked by their banishment by the Montagnards, she went to Paris and killed the deputy and journalist Marat, whom she judged to be partially responsible for the political repression. She was executed on July 17, 1793.
