Tussaud, Marie Grosholtz, otherwise known as Madame: Born in Switzerland, she worked in Philippe Curtius’s Paris waxworks. After 1789, she sculpted portraits of major figures from the Revolution, well before becoming famous in London under the name of her husband, François Tussaud.
